And where better than Bordeaux! Soak up the atmosphere, converse with native speakers, whilst improving social skills and broadening your horizons at the same time… With years of experience in teaching and student excursions, you’re guaranteed a valuable and stimulating experience.

The week long study visit has been designed to meet the needs of students who are preparing for GCSE and AS/A2 examinations.

Lessons

Each course includes 12 hours of French tuition with tutors who are qualified to teach French as a foreign language. They use active and communicative teaching methods to build confidence in all four skill areas of listening reading speaking and writing. A variety of authentic materials are used. Homework is given to support the lessons and to maximise progress during the study week.

Excursions

The visits will include discovery of historic Bordeaux, a trip to Utopia, an art house cinema, the Aquitaine museum, St Emilion and a cookery session at the Atelier des Chefs cookery school.

Homestay

All students will be based with Alliance Française host families and where possible with a child of the family who is of school age to enable maximum exposure to French language and culture. Students can request to stay in pairs or individually.
